Rick Ross‘ new single “Get Down” feat. Pharrell Williams does nothing to dispel those that don’t regard the southern rapper as a lyricist. In fact Ross is an adept lyricist but on this song perhaps it is the topic matter or the corny beat from The Neptunes but he just doesn’t hit the mark on this track. Pharrell’s hook is quite boring and the normally hot production duo doesn’t find the mark either. The best part of the song is the bridge which is actually amazing musically. However, again Pharrell’s vocals are corny as he nursery rhymes “If you want it and you know it get your hands up” LOL… Listen to it at your own risk here in high quality.
