After what would seem as a successful career as a urban pop/hip hop singer, superstar Omarion has reportedly released from his recording contract with Columbia Records an imprint of Sony Music. These reports come from Aol’s BlackVoices where they indicate a source at Columbia Records indicated that the young heartthrob has been dropped.
Omarion became a solo artist after his teen boy band “B2K” broke up and has since release two Certified Gold selling albums in “O” and “21″ along with a collaborative album with Bow Wow which under performed only selling 341,137 units according to SoundScan. Omarion has also starred in numerous movies including “You Got Served,” “Fat Albert,” “Feel The Noise” and the straight-to-DVD release, “Somebody Help Me.”
There is speculation Omarion could be moving to Capitol Records or Universal Motown but we would educatedly guess this won’t be Omarion’s last record deal.
