It seems DJ Chuck T and others efforts to bootleg and thus effect Lil Wayne sales due to his “F mixtape DJs” comments have done nothing to but perhaps bolster his sales.

Lil Wayne’s new album “Tha Carter III” has sold 423,000 copies in its first day of release, according to Billboard magazine, citing figures from Nielsen SoundScan. Lil Wayne has owned the number one spot on Billboards Top 100 Pop Charts from the past few weeks with his single “Lollipop” and “Tha Cater III” is one of this years most anticipated music CDs.

It is speculated that Lil Wayne is on pace to sell about 900, 000 copies of the CD in his first week of release which would be the best debut of the year. Last year Kanye West sold about 957, 000 copies of his last disc. The top first week seller this year so far has been Mariah Carey with her “EMC2″ which sold 463,000 copies.
