Tentatively scheduled for a mid-July release Common recently previewed eight tracks from his new album “Invincible Summer” for Billboard. “I created this music for the summer time, it’s about feeling good,” Common tells Billboard. “This is the type of music I felt was missing from my body of work.” The Neptunes and Outkast‘s producer Mr. DJ handle all the production on the album and Cee-Lo and The Neptunes’ pop group, Chester French will guest appear on the album. Kanye West hasn’t contributed any tracks to the album to date.
Common is also making power moves in Hollywood as he has been tapped to star alongside Christian Bale in fourth installment of the ‘Terminator’ series, “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.” The Warner Bros. and Sony-distributed film is set to hit theaters May 2009.
