Senator Barack Obama has clinched the democratic party’s Presidential Nomination! The senator from Illinois has surpassed the number of delegates to secure the nomination on the last day of the Primaries. Both South Dakota and Montana held the final two Primaries of the season and even though Hillary Clinton won the South Dakota contest she was no where near Barack Obama as he handedly won Montana and a number of super delegates moved to back him today. By CNN’s estimates Obama now holds 2156 delegates to Hillary Clinton’s 1923 delegates. Senator Barack Obama needed to reach 2118 delegates to secure the nomination.
Despite constant hostile attacks from Hillary and Bill Clinton, senator Barack Obama has now made history to be the first ever African American to lead a major Political Party into an American general election. Many experts expect that Obama will again make history when he beats Republican Nominee John McCain in November.
